Construction & Fabrication

We have extensive experience in Lump Sum, Schedule of Rates and Alliance contracts, as well as expertise in successfully managing large scale projects. Our workshop, located in Port Kembla is easily accessible and in close proximity to all major sites within the Illawarra and surrounds. With over 2000 square metres of covered workshop area we are able to produce in excess 1,200 tonnes of fabricated work.

BLUESCOPE FLARE STACK REPLACEMENT

Allfab was engaged to demolish and install No. 1, 2 & 3 flare stacks at Bluescope's Port Kembla BOS facility. This delicate and logistically difficult job required completion within a tight timeframe and was achieved with a 30% reduction in downtime and zero productivity loss.

BLUESCOPE BLAST FURNACE RELINE

As a major contractor, Allfab was involved in the planning and implementation of the No. 5 blast furnace reline project from 2006 until project completion in 2009. Allfab was contracted to provide engineering, fabrication, installation and modification works to the gas cleaning and hot blast system's equipment and infrastructure.

BARCLAY MOWLEM LHD BRIDGE, STANWELL PARK

The LHD Bridge project involved the supply, manufacture, surface treatment, delivery and installation of the launch nose and catwalk assemblies that were used as access for the existing road to the new head stock structures. Allfab managed the off site painting of all components to comply with the RTA QA specification B220. 


GROCON PTY LTD GPO PROJECT, Sydney

The Grocon GPO No.1 Martin Place Project involved the fabrication and installation of steelwork for the redevelopment of Sydney’s General Post Office, a heritage listed Victorian Building dated between 1865 and 1899.

BSL BOILER INSTALLATION

The BSL Boiler installation project consisted of the transportation and installation of two 90 tonnes per hour high-pressure “package boiler” units.  Both units were fed from a common feed plant consisting of No. 10 de-aerator and No. 10, 11 and 12 feed pumps. The installation of the package boilers enabled the principal to increase steam capacity, ensuring future viability.

BLUESCOPE TRANSFER PIT UPGRADE

Working within the BOS transfer pits, the scope of work was to replace No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 transfer pit (slag car) foundations and rails. Allfab's management engineered numerous efficiencies, allowing work to be completed 4 days earlier, creating a 19% reduction in downtime. This project, totalling 20,000 man hours, was carried out with zero safety incidents, zero lost time, and zero first aid injuries.

BHP Billiton Westcliff Colliery installation of rotary breaker 

Contracted to completely upgrade the CV1-7 conveyor, Allfab worked to remove the existing rotary breaker and install a new breaker at the West Cliff Colliery. Through careful planning Allfab's management team identified several design flaws but was able to complete all scope of work within the client's timeframe.

caltex KURnELL refinery, sydney 

As a preferred contractor on the Caltex Kurnell site since 2011, Allfab has supplied a team of highly trained personnel. Working in a volatile environment, the team have completed a significant number of projects including: installation of line filters and pipework, wharf fire system upgrade and jet fuel pump station.
